Wanderlust

I wanna wander the world, every nook, every bend

Every highway and alley, hilltop and valley

I wanna explore every winding road and dead end

Fields of tulips, lavender, paddy and barley

I wanna have an adventure, a rush of adrenaline

And sometimes a relaxing peace and quiet

I wanna shout out from mountains and create a din

And sleep in a tree hollow away from every riot

I wanna walk through forgotten, imposing cemeteries

Maybe even have a discourse with ghosts of centuries past

I wanna discover hidden treasure or an island of dreams

Or sail a pirate ship whose flag will hearts into terror cast

I wanna soak in breath taking water falls and swim

Awed by the majesty and wonder of the creator's hand

I wanna dive to the oceans bed and please my whim

By learning the best guarded secrets of water and sand

I wanna stumble upon hidden passageways and doors

Make acquaintances with creatures of myth and lore

I wanna discover uncharted territory on distant shores

And uncover pharaoh's tombs and chambers of yore

I wanna assimilate cultures and master every tongue

Melding in every where like a shadow in a crowd

I will belong  to none, the music of a song unsung

No anchor shall bind, none shall on me set a shroud

I have been taken over by an eternal wanderlust

To roam the lands and seas for all my days

I will not stop for water, land, grass or dust

For as long as my life's fire  is ablaze.
